Note
• Playback image may freeze momen-
tarily during the Follow Playback.
However this does not affect the
recording.
• The x1.5 fast foward is not available.
• You cannot change the recording
time length during the Follow
Playback.
•“Wait for a moment.” will be dis-
played on the screen if you hit
[PLAY B] within 1 minute of the
start of the recording.
• This function is available only when
you are recording with DVD-RW in
VR mode and the recording speed
of LP, EP, SLP, or SEP.
Note
• Only titles (chapters) in the
“Original” can be selected.
You cannot select titles from
the Titles List.
•
When you stop the playback
after the Timer Recording is
completed, the unit will be
switched to the timer standby
mode if another program has
been set (refer to “Hints for
Timer Recording” on page 32).
Follow Playback during Recording
You can play back the already record-
ed part of the currently recording pro-
gram without waiting for the record-
ing to end. This function works from 1
minute after the start of the recording.

During recording, hit [PLAY B].
Playback will start from the begin-
ning of the program that you are
currently recording.
Screen for the current playback:
If you play the fast forward playback and
the playback reaches the scene recorded
1 minute ago,the forwarding playback
will automatically return to the normal
playback.

Hit [STOP C] once to stop
playback.
The resume message will appear.
Screen for the current recording:
To cancel the resume, hit
[STOP C] once.
To stop recording, hit [STOP C]
again.

Simultaneous Playback and Recording
You can also play back a recorded title
during current recording or the Timer
Recording on the same disc.

During recording,hit [DISPLAY].
The display menu will appear.

Select icon using [{ / B],
then hit [ENTER].
The title number next to will
be highlighted.
Title:
Enter a desired title number
to search using [K / L] or the
Number buttons, then hit
[ENTER].
Selected title will start playback.
Chapter:
To move to for chapter, hit
[B].
Enter a desired chapter num-
ber to search using [K / L] or
the Number buttons, then hit
[ENTER].
Selected chapter will start play-
back.

Hit [STOP C] once to stop
playback.
The resume message will appear.
Screen for the current recording:
To cancel the resume, hit
[STOP C] once.
To stop recording, hit
[STOP C] again.
