Cassette tapes — Play and Recording
Recording
Use normal position tapes.
High position and metal position tapes can be used, but the unit will not
be able to record or erase them correctly.
Wind up the leader tape so recording can begin immediately.
• Recording level is set automatically.
• The volume, sound field and quality have no effect on recording.
They can be adjusted for playback.
• Multi-channel sources are automatically down-mixed to 2 channels
during recording.

• Insert the cassette ( page 24)
• Insert the disc(s) you want to record ( Discs—Basic play, page 12).

Select the
disc.

Press
to stop
playback.

Press to start
recording (play
starts).
• Insert the cassette ( page 24)
1 Program the tracks ( page 15).
2 Press [SHIFT] + [*REC] (main unit: [*REC]) to start
recording.
If the tape finishes before the disc
The disc continues playing. Press [g, STOP] to stop it.
• Insert the cassette

1 Tune to the station ( The radio, page 23).
2 Press [SHIFT] + [*REC] (main unit: [*REC]) to start
recording.
• When recording an AM broadcast, sound is momentarily interrupted
when you start and stop the recording.

• Insert the cassette
( page 24)
1 Press [TUNER/AUX] to select “AUX”.
2 Press [SHIFT] + [*REC] (main unit: [*REC]) to start
recording.
3 Start play on the external source.
(For details, refer to the external unit’s instruction manual.)
Use a screwdriver or similar object to break out the tab.
To record on the tape again, cover the hole with adhesive tape.
1. Press [TAPE
q] and then [g, STOP].
2. Press [SHIFT]+[
*REC] (main unit: [*REC]).
To stop recording
Press [g, STOP].
When recording discs, the disc also stops.
• To record or erase the other side, turn the tape over.
