software.Themainprogramcontrols,describedpreviously,donothingmorethanwriteascriptwhichis
thenhandedofftoaninterpreterthatsendstheappropriatedatatothecorrectUSBendpoint.Because
thissystemisscriptbased,provisionismadeinthistabfortheusertoviewthescriptingcommands
createdasthecontrolsaremanipulated,aswellasloadandexecuteotherscriptsthathavebeenwritten
andsaved(seeFigure29).Thisdesignallowsthesoftwaretobeusedasaquicktesttoolortohelp
providetroubleshootinginformationintherareeventthattheuserencountersproblemwiththisEVM.

Ascriptisloadedintothecommandbuffer,eitherbyoperatingthecontrolsontheothertabsorbyloading
ascriptfile.Whenexecuted,thereturnpacketsofdatawhichresultfromeachcommandaredisplayedin
theReadDataarraycontrol.Whenexecutingseveralcommands,theReadDatacontrolshowsonlythe
resultsofthelastcommand.Toseetheresultsaftereveryexecutedcommand,usetheloggingfunction
describedinthefollowingtext.
TheFilemenu(Figure30)providessomeoptionsforworkingwithscripts.Thefirstoption,Open
CommandFile...,loadsacommandfilescriptintothecommandbuffer.Thisscriptthencanbeexecuted
bypressingtheExecuteCommandBufferbutton.
ThesecondoptionisLogScriptandResults...,whichopensafilesavedialogbox.Choosealocationfora
logfiletobewrittenusingthisfilesavedialog.WhentheExecuteCommandBufferbuttonispressed,the
scriptruns,andthescriptalongwithresultingdatareadbackduringthescript,issavedtothefile
specified.Thelogfileisastandardtextfilethatcanbeopenedwithanytexteditorandlooksmuchlike
thesourcescriptfile,butwiththeadditionalinformationoftheresultofeachscriptcommandexecuted.
ThethirdmenuitemisasubmenuofRecentlyOpenedFiles.Thisissimplyalistofscriptfilesthathave
previouslybeenopened,allowingfastaccesstocommonlyusedscriptfiles.ThefinalmenuitemisExit,
whichterminatestheTLV320AIC3007EVMsoftware.
