Learning Function
Devices and buttons that cannot be operated using the preset memory (for which no preset signals are stored) can
be operated by storing the remote control signals of that device in the RC-8000.
Remote control signals can be “learned” at the buttons on the liquid crystal display.
Remote control signals can also be “learned” at the independent CH. UP
and DOWN, VOL. UP and DOWN and MUTE buttons.
Note that remote control signals of some formats cannot be learned.
[1] Using the learning function
q Press the “SETUP” icon in the icon display
section for at least 3 seconds to display the
setup screen.
Press the “Key Learning” button on the “Setup
2/4” page to display the device selection
screen.
w Press the icon in the icon display section for the
device whose button(s) you want to learn to
display the button selection screen.
e Use the and buttons in the page display
section to display the page on which the button
you want to learn is displayed.
Point the source remote control towards the
RC-8000.
Press the button you want to learn on the RC-
8000. The button is highlighted. Then, press
the button you want to learn on the source
remote control unit while the button on the RC-
8000 is highlighted.
The display is highlighted for approximately
30 seconds.
