OPERATIONS ON DVD DECK
You can program this unit to timer-record as many as 8 programs.
If you do not know the PlusCode number for the program you wish
to record, use the following procedure to set your unit to
timer-record the program.
1 Load a recordable disc.
2 Press VCR/DVD repeatedly so that the DVD lamp lights up on
the unit.
3 Press PROG/CHECK to
access the Program Check
screen.
When “PROGRAM FULL DELETE
UNWANTED TIMER PROGRAM”
appears on the TV screen, you
need to cancel some of the
reserved programs. (
pg. 45)
4 Press rt to select “NEW
TIMER PROGRAM”, then press
ENTER. The program screen
appears.
5 Press rt to set the desired
date.
The current date appears on the
TV screen. The date you enter
appears in its place.
6 Press we to select “START”, then press rt to set the desired
start time.
Each press of rt advances/goes back the start time in 1-min.
increments.
To advance/go back the start time in 30-min. increments, press and
hold rt.
7 Press we to select “STOP”, then press rt to set the desired
stop time.
Each press of rt advances/goes back the stop time in 1-min.
increments.
To advance/go back the stop time in 30-min. increments, press and
hold rt.
8 Press we to select “CH”, then press rt to select the desired
channel.
If you are using a DBS receiver, see “ATTENTION FOR DBS
RECEIVER USERS” in the right column.
9 Set the other recording options as required.

Timer Programing” ( pg. 41).
10 Press ENTER to access the Program Confirmation screen.
11 Press ENTER to complete timer programing.
To program another timer, repeat steps 3 11.
12 Press DVD TIMER (#) to engage the unit’s timer mode. The
DVD timer lamp lights up on the unit and the VCR deck is
automatically selected. When the VCR deck is in timer standby
mode, the unit is automatically turned off.
To disengage the timer mode, press DVD TIMER (#) again.
NOTES:
When two successive programs are recorded on a DVD-RW disc with
Manual Timer Programing function, the beginning of the second one
may be left off the recording.
If the copy limited program is received during timer-recording, the unit
enters Record Pause mode. Recording starts again if it is switched to
a recordable broadcast during the time you programed.
Manual Timer Programing
Make sure that the unit’s built-in clock is set properly.
Turn on the unit.
Turn on the TV and select the video channel (or AV mode).
Slide the TV/CABLE/DBS/DVD switch to DVD.

Cable Box and DBS Receiver Users
To timer-record a satellite broadcast using Manual Timer
Programing:
A Perform “Cable Box and/or DBS Receiver Control Setting
(DVD Deck Only)” ( pg. 22).
B Perform “Manual Timer Programing” (pg. 42).
C Leave the cable box or DBS receiver’s power on.
ATTENTION FOR DBS RECEIVER USERS
If you are using a DBS receiver (unless “DBS RECEIVER SET”
is set to “OFF” pg. 22), the band indication (TV, CATV or
DBS) appears on the left of the channel number indication.
No indication: To timer-record a regular TV broadcast received
on the unit.
CATV: To timer-record a cable TV broadcast received on the unit,
or through a cable box (unless “CABLE BOX SET” is set to
“OFF” pg. 22).
DBS: To timer-record a satellite broadcast received through a
DBS receiver.
NOTE:
If the channel number entered requires that the band be set,
“7=DBS” is displayed on the screen.
If this happens, press the number key “7” to select “DBS”.
