The video heads are the means bywhich the TVNCR reads the picture from the tape during playback. In the
unlikely event that the heads become dirtyenough to be clogged, no picture will be played beck. This can easily be
determined if, duringplayback ofa known good tape, there isgood sound, but no picture (picture isextremely
snowy). If thisisthe case, havethe TV/VCR checked by qualified seP..tcepersonnel.

VIDEO HEAD CLEANING
AUTO HEAD CLEANING system cleans the video heads automatically when a cassette is inse_ed or ejected to
prevent dirtfrom accumulating on the heads. However, manual head cis_niogis needed ifthe picture on playttack is
still unclear althOughthe picture on program is normal. This failure signifies that the head is gettingdirty and occurs
when playing poor quality ordamaged tapes. If the heads require cleaning, use a high qualify head cleaning system
or have them cleaned professionally.
NOTE: • DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE VIDEO HEADS OR SERVICE THE UNIT BY REMOVING THE REAR
COVER.
• Video heads may eventually wear outand should be replaced when they fail toproduce clear pictures.
• To help prevent video head clogging, use only goodquality VHS tapes. Discard worn outtapes.
