13. LIGHTNING
TOprotect your unitfrom a lightning storm, orwhen it isLeftunattended and unused for tongperiods of time,
unplug it from the wall oupot and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This willprevent damage to the unit
due tolightningand power line surges,
14. POWER LINES
An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity ofoverhead power lines or other electdc lightor
power circuits, orwhere it can fallinto suchpower lines or circuits.When installin_gan outside antenna system,
extreme care should be taken tokeep from touching such power lines or circuits,as contact with them might be
fatal.
15. OVERLOADING
DOnot overload wall outlets and extension cords, as thiscan result in a risk offire or electric shock.
16. OBJECTAND UQUID ENTRY
DOnot push objectsthrough any openings inthis unit,as they may touch dangerous voltage pointsor short out
portsthat couldresult in fire or alectric shock. Never splflor spray any type of liquidintothe unit.

so as toprovide some protection against voltage surges andbuilt-up static charges, Sec_on 810 ofthe NaSonal
EI_ Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides informationwith respect to proper grounding of the mast and support-
ing structure, groundingof the leed-to wireto an antenna discharge unit, size of groundingconductors, ic_.atidn
of antenna discharge unit, connection to groundingelectrodes, and requirements for the groundingelectrode.
18. SERV]ClNG
DOnot attempt toservice thisunit yourselfas opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage
orother hazards. Refer all servicing toqualified service personnel.
19. DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE
Unplug this unitfrom the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel underthe following
conditions:
a. When the power-supply cord or plugis damaged.
b. it liquidhas been spilled, Orobjects have fallen intothe unit,
c. Ifthe unithas been exposed to rain orwater.
d. If the unitdoes not operate normallyby following the operating instructidq_.Adjust onlythose controls
that are covered by the operating instructions,as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damage andwill often require extensive work by a qualified technicianto restore the unitto itsnormal
operation.
e. Ifthe unit has been dropped or the Cabinet has been damaged.
h When the unitexhibits a distinctchange in performance, this indicates a need for service.
20. REPLACEMENT PANTS
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement parts spealfied by the
manufacturer or those that have the _me characteristics as the original pod.
Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.

Upon completion of any service or repairs to this unit, ask the service technicianto pedorm safety checks to
