Setting closed caption
Some discs have closed captions.
You can set whether you will display the close
captions or not.
• To show the closed captions on the TV, you
have to use a TV with a built-in closed-
caption decoder, or to connect a closed-
caption decoder in between this unit and a
TV.
To go back to the previous screen during the
procedure, press RETURN .

While holding SHIFT (S), press
MENU/SETUP.
Setup Menu appears on the screen.

Press Cursor ∞ (or 5) to select
“DISPLAY,” then press ENTER.
Display menu appears.

Press Cursor ∞ (or 5) to select
“CLOSE CAPTION,” then press
ENTER.
Closed-caption on/off selecting screen
appears.

Press Cursor ∞ (or 5) to select a
desired setting, then press ENTER.
• ON: Select this to display the close
captions when you start playback.
• OFF: Select this not to display the close
captions when you start playback.
To erase the Setup Menu screen, press MENU/
SETUP while holding SHIFT (S).
Changing the color of the
on-screen bar
You can change the color of the on-screen bar
displayed on the top of the screen, by selecting
the color – yellow, green, blue, or red.
To go back to the previous screen during the
procedure, press RETURN .
