General Explanation of
On-Screen Display
This manual gives basic instructions for operating the
recorder. Some DVDs require specific operation or
allow only limited operation during playback. When
this occurs, the symbol appears on the TV screen,
indicating that the operation is not permitted by the
recorder or is not available on the disc.
Displaying Information While Watching TV
During viewing the TV, press DISPLAY to
display/remove the information displayed
on-screen.
Using the On-Screen Display
The On-Screen Display contains many playback
features. To see the On-Screen Display, press
DISPLAY while a disc is playing. The On-Screen
Display appears across the top of the screen. Each
feature is illustrated with an icon. Use the
v / V / b / B buttons to move through the different
icons in the On-Screen Display.
When an icon is highlighted, use the v / V buttons to
scroll through the choices displayed in the text box
under the icons.
The On-Screen Display features are only available if
the disc was created with that particular feature (i.e., if
you select the Subtitle icon, you won’t be able to
change the subtitle language unless the author of the
disc created the disc with subtitles).You can display
various information about the disc loaded on-screen.

the tuner.
