42 Timer Recording With the VCR Plus+ Programming System (cont’d)
• To exit the VCR Plus+ programming
system at any time, press the STA-
TUS/EXIT button. The display will
disappear from the screen.
• To stop a started timer recording,
press the STOP/EJECT button on
the TV/VCR.
• If the power fails, programmed
timer recordings will not be lost. The
programmed timer recordings will
be restored when the clock is reset
after the power failure. (The clock
will reset itself automatically if you
are using the AUTO CLOCK feature.
Details are on pages 14 - 17. If you
are not using the AUTO CLOCK
feature, reset the clock manually;
then, the timer recordings will be
restored. Details are on pages 12 -
13.) The timer recording will not
occur only if the timer recording
was scheduled to take place during
the power failure.

Press the Number 1 button to record in SP speed, the
Number 2 button to record in LP speed, or the Number 3
button to record in SLP speed. Your selection will appear to
the right of REC SPEED on-screen, although SP=1 LP=2 SLP=3 will
continue to flash. For details about tape speed, see pages 32 and
57. You cannot use the SPEED button at this time.
The TV/VCR must be off for
a timer recording to take
place! Make sure there is a
tape in the TV/VCR.

Press the STATUS/EXIT button. PROGRAM WAS COM-
PLETED / PLEASE TURN OFF FOR TIMER RECORDING will
appear on-screen.
● If there is not a tape in the TV/VCR, PLEASE INSERT CAS-
SETTE also appears on-screen.
● If there is a tape without a record tab in the TV/VCR, PLEASE
REMOVE CASSETTE also appears on-screen. If this happens,
insert a different tape.

Turn off the TV/VCR power. The REC(ord) light will flash. If
you forget to turn off the TV/VCR, PLEASE TURN OFF FOR
TIMER RECORDING appears on the TV/VCR screen two minutes
before a timer recording starts.
