No Picture, No Video

The TVwon't turn on. i • Makesure the AC power cord is securely plugged intothe wall outlet and the T_
Makesure the wall outletis working.
Trypressingthe POWER button onthe TVto make surethe problem is not the remote. Ifthe TVturns
on, refer to "Remote control does not work" below.
Tile TVturns off automatically. Ensurethe Sleep Timer isset to Off in tile Setup menu(p. 19).
Ifyour PC is connected to the T_,check your PC power settings.
Makesure tile AC power cordis plugged ill securely tothe wall outlet and tile T_
Whenwatching TVfrom an antenna or cable connection, the TVwill turn offafter 10- 15minutes if
thereis no signal.
Ttlere is nopicture/video. Check cable connections (removeand reconnect allcables connected to the TVand externaldevices).
i • Setyour external device's (Cable/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-rayetc) video outputs to match the connections
to the TVinput. Forexample, ifanexternal device's output is HDMI, itstlould beconnected to anHDMI
input onthe T_
i • Makesureyour connected devices are powered on.
i • Besureto select tile TV'scorrect source by pressing the SOURCE button on the remotecontrol.
i • Reboot the connected device by reconnecting the device's power cable.

RF(Cable/Antenna)Connection

Tile TV isnot receivingallchannels, i • Makesure tile coaxialcable is connected securely.
Pleasetry Auto Program to add availablechannels to the channel list.Go to MENU- Channel - Auto
Program then select Auto and makesurethe correct Cable TVsignaltype isset inthe menu. Ttlere are
3 options (STD, HRC and IRC) (p. 13).
Verifythe Antenna is positioned correctly.
NoCaption on digitalchannels. Check Caption Setup menu. Trychanging Caption Mode Service1 to OO1 (p. 21).
Some channelsmaynot havecaption data.
Tile picture is distorted: macroblock error, Compressionof video contents may cause picture distortion, especially withfast moving pictures such
smallblock, dots, pixelization, assports and action movies.
A low signal cancause picture distortion. This is not a TV problem.
PC Connection
A "Mode Not Supported" message i • Setyour PC's output resolutionso it matches the resolutionssupported by the TV(p. 11).

Tile TV ismaking a humming noise.
Removetheleft and rightaudio connections from the set-top-box. Ifthe buzzingstops, this indicates
that the set-top-box has a grounding issue.ReplacetheComponent video cables with anHDMI
connection.
HDchannels willhaveblack bars oneither sideof the screen when displaying upscaled SD (4:3)
contents.
Black bars on the Top& Bottom will be shown on moviesthat haveaspect ratios differentfrom yourT_
Adjustthe picture sizeoptionson yourexternal device or TVto fullscreen.
Replacethe remotecontrol batterieswith the poles (+/-) inthe right direction.
Cleanthe sensor's transmission window onthe remote.
Trypointingthe remote directly atthe TVfrom 5-_6feet away.
PlasmaTVs typically make a softhumming sound. This is normal. It's caused by the electricalcharges
that areused to createthe imagesonthe screen.
Ifthehumming sound is loud, you may haveset thebrightnesson the TVtoo high.Try settingthe
brightness lower.
Youcanalso have loud humming ifthe back ofyour PlasmaTV istoo closeto awall or otherhard
surface. Alsotry reroutingyourconnection cables.
Improper insta,ation ofwa, mount can createexcessive noise.
