Settings and Adjustments
Selects the dynamic range (difference
between soft and loud sounds) setting when
playing sounds that conform to “DRC.” This
affects the output from the following jacks:
– LINE 2 OUT (R-AUDIO-L) jacks
– LINE 3 – TV jack
–LINE1 jack
– DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL)/HDMI OUT
jack only when “Dolby Digital” is set to
“PCM” (page 78).
Selects the type of audio signal output from
the HDMI OUT jack.

The PCM signals may not be output even when
you select “Auto” depending on the “Audio Out”
settings, number of audio channels, and the
HDMI-connected device.
The “HDMI Audio” function is not available
when a DVI device is connected.
Limitation Settings
(Parental Lock)
You can set the password and limit the
operations.
When you have not set the password, the
display for entering a four-digit password
appears. Enter your new password using the
number buttons.
Viewing of some digital TV programmes
can be limited according to the level you set.
To watch or record programmes with a level
that exceeds the set level, your password is
required.
1 Select a block level, and press .
All (All block) t G (General) t PG
(Parental Guidance Recommended) t
M (Mature Audience 15+) t MA
(Mature Adult Audience 15+) t AV
(Adult Audience, Strong violence 15+)
t R (Restricted 18+) t Off.
2 Enter your four-digit password using the
number buttons.
To cancel the setting, select “Off”
(default) in step 1.
Playback of some DVD VIDEOs can be
limited according to a predetermined level,
such as the age of the users. Scenes may be
blocked or replaced with different scenes.
1 Select the level, and press .
The lower the value, the stricter the
limitation.
Discs rated higher than the selected
level will be restricted.
2 Enter your four-digit password using the
number buttons.
To cancel the DVD Playback setting for
the disc, select “Off” (default) in step 1.
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Off Normally select this
position.
On Makes low sounds clear
even if you turn the volume
down.
HDMI Audio
Auto Outputs Dolby Digital,
MPEG and DTS audio
signals as a bitstream
signal. Normally select
this position.
PCM Converts all audio
signals except for DTS
signals to PCM.
