The USB device is

Change for another USB device. The DS-101j Disk Station
doesn’t support USB storage devices through a USB hub.
The USB device is
formatted already.
If it hasn’t been formatted yet, you can format it as a
FAT32 file system from your PC or Mac. Please refer to
4.5-1 USB Disk in the User’s Guide for detailed
instruction.
3. My USB printer can’t work in a sudden after I configured it successfully.
Check Solution
If the printer is
physically alright.
Such as whether the
power is on, the ink is
sufficient, etc.
If it’s not physically alright, please mend it.

101j Disk Station UI.
If the amount of free space on DS-101j Disk Station is not
sufficient to queue a print job, you may have to remove
some unused files to get more space.
4. I can’t delete folders in DS-101j Disk Station.
Check Solution
If you used “/ ” or “:
“ to name the folder
when you created it
on a Mac.
If the name of the
folder on Mac ends up
with “. “ or “space.”
If you’d like to delete the folder, please do it on a Mac.
Some characters such as \ / : * ? " < > | do not work on
Windows while they are suitable for Mac. Therefore, you
might have to avoid using these characters when naming
folders. Otherwise, you need to go to a Mac every time
you want to delete folders with these characters.
5. I can’t use the USB printer from Mac.
Check Solution
Whether the printer
has a PostScript
function.
The DS-101j Disk Station only supports USB printers,
which have PostScript function.
6. DS-101j Disk Station automatically shuts down after it was turned on.
Check Solution
The system.
There are disk bad sectors in an important system area.
Please contact with your vendor for further checking.
