Chapter 1 Important Safety and Compliance Information
About Batteries
Cleaning the Power Plug and the Electrical Outlet Safely
Disconnect the power cord and use the soft fabric cleaning cloth that shipped with your LCD display.
To prevent electric shock, fire, and malfunctions that might occur as a result of improper cleaning:
Never moisten the cloth when you clean the power plug pins or dust the power outlet. Always
use the cloth dry.
Never spray water directly onto the main body of your LCD display. Ensure that water does not
enter your LCD display and that it is not wet.
To prevent changes in the appearance of the product surface and peeling of stickers from its surface
from cleaning, never not any formulation that contains wax, acetone, benzene, alcohol, paint thinner,
or any other flammable or corrosive substance.
About Batteries
Note Product kits that shipped before April 2, 2009 include AAA batteries for your remote control. After this
date, the product kit no longer includes these batteries, which are sold separately.
The remote control for your LCD display uses batteries. In your community there might be
environmental and safety regulations that require you to dispose of these batteries properly. To learn how
these requirements affect you, contact your local authorities.
Store batteries and all other accessories in a location where they are safely out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
Do not short circuit, disassemble or overheat batteries.
There is a danger of explosion if you use the wrong type of batteries. Replace batteries only with the
same type (or its equivalent) that you received from Cisco.
