Whenyou

on the remote
control, the
devicedoesn’t
do what you
expect.
Maybeyou’re
trying to control a
device andyou’re
notpointing the
remote control
rightatit.
Maybe the remote
control is missing
batteries,maybe
youput the
batteries in the
remote the wrong
way,ormaybe the
batteries are weak
or dead.
Maybeyoudidn’t
set the remote to
themodeforthe
deviceyou wantto
control.
Maybeyoudidn’t
setuptheremoteto
control the device.
UHFsignalsfroma
neighbor’s remote
may be blocking
signals from your
remote.
Remember, the remote control uses IR
signalstocontrolalldevicesexceptfor
the receiver. IR signals travel only
40 feet orless,andcan’t go through
walls or other solid objects. You must
point the remote control right at the
device, with no objects to block
the signal path.
Ifthebatteriesaremissingordead,put
fresh AAA-size batteries in. If the
remote has fresh batteries, check
whether you put them in the right way.
Ifyoudidn’t, take them out and put
them in the right way.
Makesure you settheremotetothe
mode for the device you want
to control.
Makesure you setup the remote
to control allthe devices you want
to use.
Put aUHF attenuator on thereceiver’s
UHF Remote Antennainput. This
will help keep stray signals from
blockingyourremote’ssignals, but
also cut down how far away you can
usetheremote.
Whenyou
press the
remote control
Mute or
Volume
button,
nothing
happens.
Maybeyou’re
trying to control
TV volume but you
setuptheremote
tocontrolatuneror
amplifier in Aux
mode.
Maybeyou’re
trying to control
tuner or amplifier
volumebutyouset
up the remote
to control a TV
in Auxmode.
Set up the remote to control either
TV volume or tuner/amplifier volume,
whichever you want.
