TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
If you have followed the instructions contained in this manual and have
difficulty in operating your TV/VCR, locate the SYMPTOM in the left column
below. Check the corresponding POSSIBLE CAUSE and CORRECTIVE
ACTION columns to remedy the problem.
Symptom Possible Cause Corrective Action
No power • AC Power cord is not

Connect AC power cord to
AC outlet
Power button is set to OFF. Set the Power button to on.
No picture and sound TV/VCR is not plugged into

Plug power cord into an

No channel in memory. Program tuner’s memory.
No picture or poor picture. Direction or condition of
antenna is not adequate.
Adjust direction or picture on
TV/VCR or replace antenna.

Adjust picture controls.
No sound or poor sound. Volume control on remote
control unit or main unit is in
minimum position.
Adjust volume control on
remote control unit or set.
Mute button on the remote
control unit is in the ON

Timer recording is not

Set the timer recording

CLOSED CAPTION PROBLEM POSSIBLE REMEDY
My TV/VCR is showing captions that
are misspelled
You are watching a live broadcast
and spelling caption errors made by
the closed captioning production
company may pass through
uncorrected. A prerecorded program
will not show any misspelled words
because of the normal time available
for editing the captions.
My TV/VCR will not show the text in
its entirety or there is a delay of what
is being said.
Captions that are delayed a few
seconds behind the actual dialogue
are common for live broadcasts.
Most is captioning production
companies can display a dialogue to
a maximum of 220 words

er minute.
