Using closed captioning
Closed caption availability and content depends on
the channel broadcaster and may vary across
programs in that channel.
To turn closed captioning on or off with the CCD
button:
• Press CCD one or more times. You can select CC
On, CC On Mute, or CC Off.
To turn closed captioning on or off using the
on-screen menu:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.
2 Press or to highlight SETTINGS, then
press ENTER. The Settings menu opens.
3 Press or to highlight Closed Caption, then
press ENTER. The Closed Caption menu opens.
4 Press or to highlight Caption Control, then
press ENTER.
5 Press or to highlight CC On, CC On Mute,
or CC Off, then press ENTER.
6 Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or
press EXIT to close the menu.
Selecting the closed captioning mode
Most closed captioning content can be found
within the CC1 setting for analog TV and within the
CS1 setting for digital TV.
To select the closed captioning mode:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.
2 Press or to highlight SETTINGS, then
press ENTER. The Settings menu opens.
3 Press or to highlight Closed Caption, then
press ENTER. The Closed Caption menu opens.

based on using the remote control.
