PLASMA: RICH BLACK IN DARK SCENES WITH 1,000,000 : 1 DYNAMIC CONTRAST RATIO
Most of our latest VIERA plasma TVs are able to achieve a staggering 1,000,000 : 1 dynamic contrast
ratio – meaning that on-screen blacks are not grey or dark grey, but a true, deep, silky black. Dramatic
scenes will feel even more exciting, immersing you completely in the action!
LCD: INTELLIGENT SCENE CONTROLLER – TRUE-TO-LIFE PICTURE WITH CRISP BLACKS
This system adjusts the back light brightness and contrast according to the scene. In dark scenes, the
back light intensity is reduced to reproduce deeper blacks. In addition, by shifting the gradation to the
brighter side in a bright scene and to the darker side in a dark scene, this system increases the image
density by up to four times. This not only helps prevent blackout, it lets VIERA accurately convey even
subtle differences in the blackness level.
Colour Processing Technology
PLASMA/LCD: RICH AND NATURAL COLOUR
Digital High-Defi nition TV broadcast transmissions
are based on a set of specifi cations called the HDTV
standard**. The wide colour gamut of VIERA full HD
TVs with Digital Cinema Colour covers 120% of the
conventional HDTV colour standard. The result is a
level of colour expression that approaches the colour
standard of the Digital Cinema Initiative***. This
wide gamut achieves richer, more vivid colouring
from x.v.Colour signals. Even the wide colour gamut
of VIERA full HD TVs without Digital Cinema Colour
(but with x.v.Colour technology) covers 110% of the
conventional HDTV colour standard.
