Leica Dicomar – Lens quality is even more important than ever before when making High
Defi nition recordings. Therefore, the Leica Dicomar lens, developed specifi cally for Full
HD camcorders and featuring Leica’s original optical technology, is an advanced lens that
captures clear, crisp and fi nely nuanced pictures with outstanding detail and contrast.
FACE DETECTION
It is diffi cult to shoot scenes with deep shadows or large differences
between light and dark areas. The subject often looks too dark and faces
are hardly visible. The new Panasonic Full-HD camcorder solve this
problem with their Face Detection function which automatically adjusts the
exposure according to the ambient brightness. As a result, faces are bright
and easy to see. When the camcorder detects a face in the scene, a square
frame appears in the LCD monitor and exposure is adjusted to the correct
brightness level. In addition, the skin tone will be smoothed as well. Face
Detection can detect up to fi ve faces at a time. With the new Face Detection
function, Panasonic‘s Full-HD camcorders make it easy to capture
beautiful faces and clear backgrounds even in dim or backlit situations.

Image quality is in no way reduced with the Advanced O.I.S. / O.I.S.
lens compensation. The lens moves up-down or left-right, bending the
incoming light in order to correct the effects of hand-shake.
Panasonic‘s Advanced O.I.S. system corrects the effects of hand-shake
4,000x/second, balancing out jittery movements before light enters the
Sensor. This compensation functionality is effective for both moving and
still pictures. The technology behind it is very effective – the Advanced
O.I.S. system uses gyronsensors to detect movement caused by hand-
shake and adjusts the lens inside to compensate it. As this system is
an optical one, image quality will not be compromised.
