Troubleshooting
Before requesting service for this LCD/DVD combo, check the chart below for a possible cause of the problem you are experiencing.
Some simple checks or a minor adjustment on your part may eliminate the problem and restore proper operation.
If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or it the remedies indicated in the chart do not solve the problem,
consult your dealer for instructions.
Symptoms (Common)
Power does not turn ON
Remote control does not
function
Image shakes
Image is not clear or no color
Image appears doubled or tripled.
A black stripe appears for a
moment when changing
channels using the VCR.
Images disappear at the top
and bottom of the screen
During ZOOM or JUST modes,
the image is cut off at the top
and bottom.
Channel number remains
displayed.
Play fails to start even when
PLAY is pressed.
Play starts but then stops
immediately.
There may be red spots, blue
spots and green spots on the
screen.
Checks
•
Is the power plug plugged in?
•
Is the AC adapter plug securely connected to the unit?
•
If the power does not turn on using the remote, check if the TV set is
turned on.
•
Are the batteries dead or inserted incorrectly?
•
Is the remote control sensor in direct light of florescent lamps or other
strong sources of light?
•
Is the antenna cable connected properly?
•
When using a VCR and selecting channels on the TV, is the TV/VIDEO
mode for the VCR set to TV?
•
Check cable signal, connections or wire.
•
The image distorts when channels are changed.
•
When using 16:9 image software, there is no picture at the top and
bottom of the screen (cinema vision size software, etc.).
•
Has the screen position been changed?
If so, adjust screen positioning.
•
Press the DISPLAY button.
During VIDEO input, channel number is displayed until an image is displayed.
•
Condensation has formed: wait about 1 to 2 hours for it to evaporate.
•
This player cannot play discs other than DVDs, Video CD and CD.
•
The disc may be dirty and may require cleaning.
•
Ensure that the disc tis installed with the label of the side to be played
facing upwards.
•
This is a characteristic of liquid crystal panels and is not a problem. The
liquid crystal panel is built with very high precision technology giving
you fine picture details. Occasionally, a few non-active pixels may appear
on the screen as a fixed point of blue, green, or red. Please note the
this does not affect the performance of your LCD TV.
