Using TV Features
Overview of the Remote Control and TV Controls/Indicators
When using the remote control for the first time
Pull the insulation film out from the remote control.
When changing the battery
Unlock the battery holder by pushing a pen tip into
the hole located on the rear of the remote control.
Slide the battery holder out. Replace the battery with
CR2032 (lithium) battery with e side up in the
battery holder of the remote control.

Button Description
1 DISPLAY Press once to display the information pertaining to the
channel and/or program when available. The OSD (On Screen
Display) will time out in a few seconds or press again to
immediately turn off the display. You can also set the display
to show minimal information. See Info Banner on page 41.
2 CC Press to turn on and off the Closed Captions (CC). To change
or customize the CC Display, see page 38.
3 DMe

Press to access features in the optional BRAVIA external
module (e.g. DMX-NV1). See your dealer or
www.sony.com/bravia for more information. The module may
not be available in your region.
4 SOUND Press to cycle through different sound settings: Dynamic for
enhancing treble and bass, Standard for spoken dialog and
Custom for flat setting (see page 34).
5 0-9 ENT Press 0-9 to select a channel; the channel changes after two
seconds. Press ENT to change channels immediately.
6 Use with 0-9 and ENT to select digital channels.
For example, to enter 2.1, press , , and ENT.

This remote control cannot be programmed to use with other equipment.
•The 5 button and CH + have a tactile dot. Use them as a reference when
operating the remote control.
This remote control is designed to operate at fairly close range from the TV.
If you use with other Sony TVs, operate it near the TV you want to control.
