Buttons and Indicators on the Base
Item Description
1 LED Lights up in orange when the Memory Stick is inserted.
2 PIC OFF LED Lights up in green when the Picture Off feature is activated (see page 41).
3 TIMER LED When the timer is set, this LED will remain lit even if the TV is turned off. For details,
see page 32.
4 HOME Press to display the TV Home Menu/XMB

(XrossMediaBar) to access the TV Home
Menu items such as TV Settings, Photo, Music, TV channels and External Inputs
list (see page 25).
5 INPUT/ When INPUT is lit, External Inputs can be switched. If the HOME button is pressed,
and is lit, the INPUT button functions as (see page 22).
6 VOL +/– B/b When VOL +/- are lit, the volume control can be adjusted. If the HOME button is
pressed, and B/b are lit, the buttons will act as B/b to select an item on the TV Home
Menu/XMB
™
(XrossMediaBar).
7 CH +/– V/v When CH +/- are lit, the channels can be switched. If the HOME button is pressed, and
V/v are lit, the buttons will act as V/v to select an item on the TV Home Menu/XMB
™
(XrossMediaBar) (see page 23).
8 POWER Lights up in green when the TV is turned on.

• To the right of the POWER button is a Self-Diagnosis LED. If the LED flashes in red,
the TV requires service. Count how many times it flashes red within a two second
period, and call the Sony service center or your dealer for further assistance.
9 Light Sensor Senses room light level and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly (see page 41).
0 (IR) Infrared
Receiver
Receives IR signals from the remote control.

•The CH + has a tactile dot. Use it as a reference when operating the TV.
• Do not place any objects in front of the light sensor or IR receiver, as their function may be affected.
• Do not block the ventilation openings or speakers by placing any objects on the base. It may cause a malfunction.
