Displaying the Disc Status for DVD/Video
CD
Use the procedure described below to display the status (title number,
chapter number, etc.) of the currently playing DVD or of the currently
playing Video CD (track number, etc.) on the monitor.

During playback, touch the display panel.
The operation menu screen is displayed.

Touch [CONTROL] within 5 seconds.
The display status is displayed for 5 seconds.
Touching an area other than the function guide in the display within
5 seconds, turns off the disc status display.
To play back a DVD-Audio disc, set “VCAP” in “Setting the DVD-
Audio Playback Mode” (page 33).

extension “avi” or “divx”.
The optimum size for DivX
®
disc playback is as follows:
If an aspect ratio is set other than 720 pixel (horizontal) × 480
pixel (vertical), a black belt may be displayed on the left and
right sides, or at the top and bottom of the screen.
The following audio recording systems are supported.
Adjusting the Audio

Press SETUP.
The SETUP selection screen is displayed.

Touch [] of AUDIO or press and hold the Rotary
encoder for at least 2 seconds on the unit.
The display changes to the AUDIO setup screen.

Scrolls the page list up or down.
Scrolls the list item by item.
Touching and holding will scroll continuously.
For details on how to use the BassEngine, refer to
“BassEngine Operation” (page 43).
When an external audio processor is connected, the
“BassEngine” indicator changes to “A.PROCESSOR.” For
A.PROCESSOR operation, refer to “External Audio
Processor” (page 43).
Touching [RETURN] will return to the previous display.
When an external audio processor is connected, BASS, TREBLE or
LOUDNESS is not displayed.
Adjusting Bass/Treble:
You can change the bass or treble frequency emphasis
to create your own tonal preference.
Touch [ ] to display the Bass or Treble adjusting screen.
Setting the Bass Center Frequency:
The displayed bass frequency is emphasized
Touch [ ] or [ ] of FREQ. to select the desired bass center
frequency.
Setting range: 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz
Setting the Bass level:
You can emphasize or weaken the bass frequency.
Touch [ ] or [ ] of LEVEL to select the desired bass level.
Setting range: -7 to +7
Screen Size:
32 to 720 pixel (horizontal) × 32 to 576 pixel
(vertical)
Image bit rate: “average 4 Mbps, Peak 8 Mbps”
Home Theater Profile supported
MPEG1 Layer II 64 to 384 kbps
MPEG1 Layer III 32 to 320 kbps
