(4) Stopping Playback
During playback, press the STOP button.
RESUME function
The player records the point where the STOP button was pressed during play
(RESUME function). (
1 flashes on the players FL display when this function is
activated.)
Press the PLAY button again while 1 flashes and play will resume from this
point.
When the tray is opened or STOP button is pressed again while 1 flashes,
the RESUME function will be cleared.
The RESUME function works only with titles for which the elapsed playing time
appears on the players FL display during playback.
This feature will not be cleared when the player is set to the standby mode and
then turned back ON.

The resume play memory function only works for discs
for which the elapsed time is shown on the display
during playback.

Chapter preview function (DVD only)
When the PLAY button is pressed while
1 flashes, the message shown at
right is displayed.
When the PLAY button is pressed again while the above message is displayed, the
first few seconds of each chapter from the beginning of the title up to the point
where operation was stopped will be played. This makes it possible to review
previously viewed chapters. Normal playback will commence from the point where
operation was stopped.
NOTES:
Cancelling the RESUME function will also clear the chapter preview function.
The chapter preview function may not work with some DVDs.
After 30 minutes in the stop mode, the DVM-4800s power automatically turns
off and the standby mode is set. (Auto Power Off)
If you do not want to continue playing the disc, to save electricity either press
the POWER button on the main to turn the power off or press the POWER OFF
button on the remote control unit to set the power to the standby mode.
