DV Audio Dubbing
This function lets you record new audio, without erasing the
original audio, on a DV tape that was recorded with "SOUND
MODE" set to "32kHz" (੬ pg. 31). You can then play back
audio that you recorded by connecting other audio or video
equipment to this recorder.
You cannot perform audio dubbing on a tape that was recorded
with "SOUND MODE" set to "48kHz", on a tape that was
recorded at the "LP" speed, or on a blank tape.

VHS Audio Dubbing
Audio dubbing replaces the normal audio sound of a previously
recorded tape with a new soundtrack.

MAKE CONNECTIONS

Connect an audio component to the AUDIO L + R
connectors on the recorder's front panel.
● When connecting monaural equipment, use only the
recorder's AUDIO L connector.
SELECT RECORDING DECK

Press VHS.
SET INPUT MODE

Press NUMBER key "0" and/or TV PROG so that "L-3"
appears in place of a preset number.
LOCATE START POINT

Press PLAY to start playback of the tape in your
recorder, and press PAUSE when you find the point
where you want to start dubbing.
ENGAGE AUDIO DUBBING

Press A. DUB.
● It is possible to take the original sound recorded on
the tape in your recorder and mix it with other
sounds from a microphone, CD player etc. To
perform this audio dubbing with audio mixing,
connect as in the diagram on the left.
● Your recorder enters the Audio Dubbing Pause mode.
(" " blinks, " " and " " light up on the front display
panel.)
● To perform audio dubbing with audio mixing, press
AUDIO on the remote control to select "HIFI L R"
or "L R" at this point. When using the DV deck
as the recording deck, also make sure that "32kHz
MODE" is set to "SOUND1" (੬ pg. 31).
* Audio dubbing with audio mixing is not possible if
you're using a monaural audio component, or if
you don't have an audio mixer.
