2 Use SUB TITLE or 5/∞ to select the subtitle.
Each time you press SUB TITLE or 5/∞, the subtitle
language changes.
See the following examples for subtitle selection.
• For DVD AUDIO/DVD VIDEO
Pressing SUB TITLE or 5/∞ cycles among the
subtitles recorded on the disc.
Example:
• For SVCD
An SVCD disc can have up to four subtitles.
Pressing 5/∞ cycles among those channels as
follows regardless of whether the subtitles are
recorded or not.
3 Press ENTER.
The subtitle in the selected language is shown.
The Subtitle selection window is dismissed.
By audio selection, you can choose the audio language of
movies or enjoy KARAOKE with or without the vocal.
• At the beginning of the part where multiple audio sounds
are recorded, appears on the TV screen (except when
the “ON SCREEN GUIDE” preference is set to “OFF”). See
page 63 for details about “ON SCREEN GUIDE” preference.
¶ During playback
(except when the status bar is shown)
1 Press AUDIO-fs/Rate.
The Audio selection window appears on the TV
screen.
2 Use AUDIO-fs/Rate or 5/∞ to select the
desired audio.
Each time you press AUDIO-fs/Rate or 5/∞, the
audio changes.
See the following examples for audio selection.
• For DVD AUDIO/DVD VIDEO
Each time you press AUDIO-fs/Rate or 5/∞, the
audio language or sound changes.
Example:
1/3 ENGLISH
2/3 FRENCH
3/3 SPANISH
-/3 OFF
-/4 OFF

NOTES
• For DVD VIDEO, the selected language may be abbreviated
on the TV screen. See “Table of languages and their
abbreviations” on page 58.
• The Subtitle selection window will automatically
disappear if you do not change the subtitle for several
seconds.
• When appears on the TV screen (for DVD AUDIO/
DVD VIDEO disc):
You cannot select the subtitle or no subtitle is recorded.
• You can also select the subtitle via the menu bar. See
pages 45 and 46.
