The following table shows the menu bar
functions available for SVCD/Video CD/
Audio CD.
Note that, in the description of the
operation column, we assume the
associated icon is selected.
Menu bar functions for SVCD/Video CD/Audio CD
Selected Icon Operation Note

Time mode selection
Selects the time mode shown in
the display window on the front
panel and in the status bar.
Press ENTER to select the time mode among the
followings.
TIME \ REM \ TOTAL \ T.REM \ Return to initial
• TIME: Current track elapsed time
• REM: Current track remaining time
• TOTAL: Disc elapsed time
• T.REM: Disc remaining time
• When you have selected [REM]
and the disc is stopped, you can
change the track by pressing 4
or ¢.
• While the disc is stopped, [REM]
shows the total time of the current
track, and [T.REM] shows the total
time of the disc.

Repeat mode
Selects the repeat mode.
1 Press ENTER to open the pull-down window.
2 Use 5/∞ to select the repeat mode from the
following.
OFF j TRACK j ALL j A-B j OFF
• TRACK: Current track repeat
• ALL: All track repeat
• A-B: Repeats a desired part (A-B repeat)
3 Press ENTER to make the selected repeat function
active.
(See pages 34 and 35 for details about repeat
function.)
• If you select [OFF] during repeat
playback, the unit continues
playback without repeating.
• For information on subsequent
operations for A-B repeat, see
page 35.

Time search
(Except during SVCD/Video CD
playback with PBC)
Specifies a time from the
beginning of the current disc as
the point from which to begin
playback.
1 Press ENTER to open the pull-down window.
2 Use numeric buttons to enter a desired time.
3 Press ENTER to begin playback from the specified
time.
(See page 29 for details about the time search.)
• This function cannot be used
during program playback.

Program
(While stopped only)
Specifies the playback order of
tracks.
1 Press ENTER to bring up the program table.
2 Specify tracks in the desired order using the numeric
buttons.
3 Press 3 to start program playback.

Random
(While stopped only)
Activates random playback.
1 Press ENTER to activate random playback.
(See page 34 for details about random.)

Audio selection
(During SVCD/Video CD
playback only)
Selects the audio channel(s).
1 Press ENTER to open the pull-down window.
2 Use 5/∞ to select a desired audio channel(s).
3 Press ENTER to playback with the selected audio
channel(s).
(See page 37 for details about audio selection.)

Subtitle selection
(During SVCD playback only)
Selects the subtitle.
1 Press ENTER to open the pull-down window.
2 Use 5/∞ to select a desired subtitle.
3 Press ENTER to begin playback with the selected
subtitle.
