Erasing programs (Erase)
You can check the contents of a selected program.
After performing steps (1) to (3) of “Erasing
programs”, perform the following steps:
(4) Use [ , ] to select “Properties” and press
[ENTER].

You can prevent accidental erasure of programs by write-protecting
them.
After performing steps (1) to (3) of “Erasing
programs”, perform the following steps:
(4) Use [ , ] to select “Protection” and press
[ENTER].
(5) Use [ ] to select “Yes” and press [ENTER].

(6) Press [ENTER].
To stop partway through
Select “Cancel” in step (5) and press [ENTER] or [RETURN].
For your reference:
• The disc’s available recording time may not increase after
erasing short programs.
• Computer data is not erased.
• The available recording time on DVD-R does not increase when
you erase programs.
To return to the previous screen
Press [RETURN].
To stop partway through
Select “No” in step 5 and press [ENTER] or [RETURN].
For your reference:
• You can give DVD-RAM titles of up to 64 characters
• The 33rd letter or later on some finalized DVD-R may not be
displayed due to the font size of titles.
• You can give DVD-R titles of up to 44 characters.
• The full title is shown in the “Properties” screen, but if you enter
a long title, only part of it is shown in the program list.

The padlock mark appears. The padlock mark disappears.
For your reference:
• Programs will be erased even if they are protected if you format
the disc with DISC INFORMATION.
(1) Press [SEARCH].
(2) Use [ , ] to select the desired
program.
(3) Use [ ] so the submenu appears.
(4) Use [ , ] to select “Erase” and
press [ENTER].
(5) Use [ ] to select “Erase”.
The program is erased completely when you use this
procedure and cannot be retrieved. Check the program
carefully before erasing it to ensure it isn’t one you want
to keep.
