Placement
l Place the Recorder on a firm, flat surface.
l Keep the DVD Recorder away from domestic
heating equipment and direct sunlight.
l In a cabinet, allow about 2.5 cm (1 inch) of free
space all around the Recorder for adequate
ventilation.
l Always keep the disc tray closed to avoid dust on
the lens.
l The lens may cloud over when the DVD Recorder is
suddenly moved from cold to warm surroundings.
Playing or recording a disc is not possible then.
Leave the DVD Recorder in a warm environment
for two hours before use, so the moisture can
evaporate.
Cleaning discs
Some problems occur because the disc inside the
Recorder is dirty. To avoid these problems, clean your
discs regularly in the following way:
l When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a cleaning
cloth. Wipe the disc in a straight line from the
center out to the edge.
Caution:
Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner,
commercially available cleaners, or anti-static
spray intended for analog discs.
Do not use commercially available cleaning discs
to clean the lens, as these discs may damage the
optical unit.
Remote control
Loading the batteries
l Remove the battery compartment cover.
l Insert two 'AA' (LR-6) batteries as indicated inside
the battery compartment.
l Replace the cover.
Caution:
Do not mix old and new batteries. Never mix
different types of batteries (standard, alkaline,
etc.). This may reduce the lifetime of the
batteries.
