Navigating with GPS
Your GPS system is a convenient way to navigate to a location, determine your
current location, and plan a travel route.
Getting ready for GPS navigation
1. Connect the system to power.
2. Rotate the built-in GPS antenna (on the underside of the system)
out until it’s horizontal, or plug in the external GPS antenna. (The
external antenna is magnetized, so you can mount it on the outside
of your vehicle.)
Important: While using the built-in GPS antenna, make sure that
the antenna maintains a horizontal position (parallel with the
ground).
Note: To disconnect the external antenna cable, twist the connector
while pulling it away from the GPS.
3. Turn on the system or press the MODE button to change to NAV
(GPS) mode.
Important: Some buttons and menu items may be unavailable until
a GPS signal is detected.
4. Press the MAP button to display the current map on the screen
when a GPS signal is detected. Your speed is displayed on the
bottom bar.
5. Tap the bottom bar to toggle between the speed display and the
current street display.
