The virtual speaker effect may cause increased noise
in the playback signah
• When listening with sound fields that employ virtual
speakers, you will not be able to hear any sound
coming directly lron/the surround speakers.
Using only the front speaker
and subwoofer
2 CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound fi'om the fi'ont lefl
and right speakers and subwoofcr. Standm'd 2
channel (stereo) sources completely bypass tile
sound field processing. Multi channel surround
limnats are dowmnixed to two channels.
This allows you to play any source using only
tile front left and right speakers and subwoofcr.
Enjoying the surround sound
by headphones
HEADPHONE THEATER
This mode outputs the sound as surround from
headphone L/R.
This l'uucdou is based on "Digital Cinema
Sound" technology.
HEADPHONE 2 CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound fi'om headphone L/
R. Standard 2 channel (stereo) sources
completely bypass the sound field processing.
Multi channel surround l\_rmats are downmixed
to two channels.
To turn the surround effect off
Press SOUND FIELD +/- repeatedly until
"A.F.D. STD" or "2CH STEREO" appears in
tile front panel display.
The system memorizes Ihe last sound field selected
for each fimction mode.
Whenever you select a function such as DVD or
TUNER, the sound field that was last ipplied to
function isautomatically apiHiedagain. Forexample,
if you listen to DVD with PRO LOGIC asthe sound
fiel&then change to another fimction, and Iben return
to DVD, PRO LOGIC will be applied again.
(DUAL MONO)
You can enjoy multiplex broadcast sound when
the system receive or play the Dolby Digital
multiplex broadcast signal.
• To receive the Dolby Digital signal, you need to
connect a digital sitellite tuner to the unit with an
optical or coaxial digital cord (page 34) and set the
digital output mode of the digital satellite tuner to
Dolby Digital.

Press AUDIO.
Press AUDIO repeatedly until tile signal you
want appears in the front panel display.
Tile default setting is underlined.
"MAIN": Sound of the main language will be
output.
"SUB": Sound of the sub language will be
output.
"MAIN+SUB": Mixed sound of both the main
and sub languages will be output.
