3-2 Operations for Nonlinear Editing (Operations in Cut Units)
Overwriting a cut
The operation for overwriting a cut depends slightly on whether the section
used for overwriting is specified on the player, or whether a section on the
recorder is specified as the source for overwriting (in other words, an operation
within a single file).

1 Press the [ ] key, and select OVERWRITE mode.
In the following steps 2 to 5, all of the player and recorder port IN and OUT
points are set, but either of the player and recorder OUT points may be left
unset.
2 Select the player port.
To select another file, follow the procedure in the section “Selecting a file”
(page 3-1).
3 Press the MARK IN key and MARK OUT key on the MAVE-F555 to set
the IN point and OUT point respectively.
