3-2-8 External VTR Control
The external VTR can be controlled from the MAVE-F555. By connecting the
MAVE-D555 and BKNE-1011 in the BVE mode, the external VTR can be
used as a Player and Recorder for editing.
Specifying the External VTR as the Player (or Recorder)
To specify the external VTR as the Player, use MAV-555 menu item 324
MAVE-F555 PORT set Port P1 or Port P2 to EXT.
To specify the external VTR as the Recorder, set the Recorder select setting
to VTR. At this time, the Recorder is automatically set to VTR
For more details about setting the Recorder select, see Section 3-4, Recorder Select
Function (page 3-63).
Performing Assemble Editing
When the Recorder select is set to VTR, conventional insert editing is
expanded and assemble editing can be performed.
1 Switch off all of the channel setting keys (V, A1, A2, A3, A4).
2 On the MAVE-F555 hold down the SHIFT key and press the V key.
ASMBL appears on the monitor display and the unit is in the assemble
mode.
Performing 1st Edit
Follow the procedure below to perform 1st Edit during Assemble editing.
1 Select VTR for RECORDER SELECT.
2 Follow the procedure above to enter the Assemble mode.
3 Select the Player port, on the MAVE-F555 press the MARK IN key to
specify the IN point and then press the MARK OUT key to specify the
OUT point.
4 Select the Recorder port, and use the MAVE-D555 keypad to enter the
Recorder IN point. On the MAVE-F555 press the MARK IN key to
specify the IN point.
5 On the MAVE-F555 hold down the NEW FILE key, and then press the
EXECUTE/REC key to end the 1st Edit.
