3-3 Background Operation (Recording/Playback Using the Spare Port)
Pausing playback
1 Press the BG key to select the background port.
2 Press the [
x
] key in the BACK GROUND operation section.
This pauses playback on the background port (P3 port).
In this state, press the [
B
] key once again to resume playback from the
same position.
Notes
While playback is paused, you can carry out a cut jump in the current file
opened on the background port. To carry out a cut jump, press the [
B=
] or
[
=b
] key.
Operation of the [
B=
] and [
=b
] keys is invalid during playback.
For details of cut jump operation, see Section 3-2-1, Cut Jump Function (page 3-
11).
Switching to another file
1 Press the BG key to select the background port.
2 If the background port is currently playing back, press the [
x
] key to
stop playback.
3 Use the / + keys to select the new file for playback.
Note
Operation of the / + keys is invalid during playback.
3-3-4 Restricting Background Port Operation
Restricting the operation of background ports prevents mishandling from the
MAVE-F555, such as recording pauses, assignment of different files during
playback, or playback pauses from external controllers during recording
(MAV-555 R2 port) or playback (MAV-555 P3 port).
Set the BG PORT sub menu to "disable" in the MAV-555 Expansion menu
item 324 "MAVE-F555 PORT". This has the effect of restricting all
background port operation from the MAVE-F555.
When this setting is disabled, if you want to pause recording, assign different
files during playback, or pause playback, you can use the controller where
recording or playback was started, or use the optional BKMA-505.
