Sound
Symptom Cause and/or corrective action
There is no sound from the
headphones.
Connect the headphones plug firmly.
The plug is dirty. Clean the headphones plug with a dry soft
cloth periodically.
The volume cannot be adjusted.
[AVLS] is set to [ON]. Set it to [OFF] (
page 46).
MP3 files cannot be played back.
Recording was not performed according to the ISO 9660 level
1 or level 2 format, or the Joliet convention in the expansion
format.
The extension “.mp3” is not added to the file name (
page
10).
Files are not stored in MP3 format.
MP3 files take longer to play back
than others.
The following discs take a longer time to start playback.
– a disc recorded with a complicated tree structure.
– a disc to which data can be added.
The sound skips.
Dirty or defective disc.
The player is used in the place subject to severe vibration.
No sound is heard from the cradle
speakers.
Headphones are connected to the player.
Operation
Symptom Cause and/or corrective action
The remote does not function.
Remove any obstacles between the remote and this player.
Use the remote closer to the remote control sensor.
Replace the battery in the remote if it is weak (
page 18).
The disc starts rotating when the
disc compartment lid is closed.
The player is reading the information on the disc, not
malfunctioning.
You cannot operate the player.
The disc does not stop rotating.
Press RESET using a pointed object (
page 16).
