Turning the power on

¢Turning the power off:
Press

•When the power is turned off from the standby mode, it is set to the
standby mode when the power is turned back on.
NOTE:
When in the standby mode, a very small amount of power is
consumed, even if all the indicators are turned off.
Loading discs
Press 5.
For instructions on loading discs, see page 4.
¢To close the disc tray:
Press 5 again.
Playing discs
Press 1.
The “1” indicator lights and playback starts.
For details, refer to the disc’s instructions.
Some discs may be designed by the software producer to operate
in ways other than described in this manual.
To stop playback
Press 2.
Playback stops and the wallpaper is displayed.
If “AUTO POWER MODE” at “OTHER SETUP” is set to “ON”
in the initial settings ( page 27), the power automatically
turns off and is set to the standby mode if the player is left in the
stop mode for about 30 minutes.
¢About the resume function
If 2 is pressed during playback, the position at which the disc was
stopped is stored in the memory (“1” flashes on the display).
If 1 is pressed now, playback resumes from the point at which it was
stopped.
The resume function is canceled if the disc tray is opened or if 2 is
pressed again.
The resume function operates for discs on which the elapsed time
is indicated on the display during playback.
The resume function does not work when playing menus.
