Troubleshooting (continued)
Problem (HDMI/EPG) Solution
No HDMI audio output.
No HDMI video output.
EPG (GUIDE Plus+) data is
not available
– You will not hear any sound from the HDMI output if the
source device is only DVI/HDCP-compatible.
– It is not possible to output SACD or copy-controlled DVD-
Audio sources from the HDMI connection.
– Make sure that you have activated this recorder as the HDMI
input in the settings for the device you are using. See HDMI
setting.
– HDMI connection can only be made to HDMI-equipped devices
with HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection). If you
wish to connect to a DVI connector (equipped with HDCP), you
will need a separate adaptor (DVI to HDMI).
– Make sure the resolution of this recorder matches the device
you have connected using the HDMI. See HDMI setting.
– Check if the HDMI cable is faulty. If there is not signal received
from the HDMI connection, the { Video Upscalling } and { HDMI
output } options in the system menu video output settings will
be greyed out. Replace a new HDMI cable.
– When connecting to a non-HDCP compliant TV, the HDCP
warning message will appear only on the analogue video output.
– To use the EPG, the analogue tuner has to be installed. Installing
only the digital tuner will result in no EPG service information.
– Turn off the recorder to standby mode for at least 24 hours. It
will enable downloading of TV listings data.
– Make sure that no timer recording is programmed during this
timing, as it will interrupt the EPG downloading.
