Learn IR Mode
OR
The Learning feature is used as a supplement to the standard preprogrammed library. The
standard code library provides most of the functions needed, but you can add a small
number of additional functions of you choice. You can store original remote commands
consisting of up to 39 keys for each of the RCU1000B’s 9 Device Modes. Only one original
remote type can be stored under any one device.
Tips On Learning
1. Use fresh batteries for both the RCU1000B remote and your original remote(s).
2. Experiment by Learning 2 or 3 keys initially (to ensure compatibility and familiarity) and
then carry out the setup routine “
DDeelleettee IIRR..AALLLL??
” before completely Learning your
original remote’s keyboard.
3. Place the original remote to the rear of the RCU1000B so that the IR LED sensor on the
front of the original remote is in line with the RCU1000B’s IR sensor, located near the
quick key area. Keep the distance between the two remotes to approximately 2 inches.
4. If commands were learned previously, carry out the setup routine “
DDeelleettee IIRR......AALLLL??
” before
attempting any new Learning.
5. Do not attempt to Learn directly under an incandescent or low-energy light as these can
cause interference with the IR transmissions. Keep at least three feet away from any such
light sources.
6. When the memory is full, the display shows “
MMeemmoorryy..FFuullll
” and the visible LED flashes
for two seconds. It is not possible to Learn any additional keys without clearing a Device
first.
7. When Learning a key, do not release the key being Learned until the display shows
SSuucccceessss
” followed by “
LLeeaarrnn IIRR......KKeeyy??
”.
8. All Learned commands are saved automatically, there is no “
CCoonnffiirrmm ttoo SSaavvee
” screen.
Deleting An Event Timer
Any set Timer Event is indicated by the symbol (T) displayed above the clock. If no Timer
events have been set then this option is not shown in the Setup screens.
