Basic Connection
Using Other Types of Video Output
In order to view clearer DVD images, it is recommended that you use a commer-
cially available S-video or component video cable when connecting your TV to the
video output.
Connecting Using
an S-VIDEO Output
Connect the S-VIDEO Output
jack on this Recorder to the S-
video input jack on your TV
using an S-video cable (com-
mercially available).
Important!
When using this connection, set
“PROGRESSIVE OUT” to “PRO-
GRESSIVE SCAN OFF” (see page
80).
After the connection
Plug in the power cord of the TV. Then
go to “EZ Set Up” (see page 25).

Connecting Using

jacks on this Recorder to the
component input jacks on your
TV using a component video
cable (commercially available).
Important!
When using this connection:
If your TV is compatible with
progressive-scan component
video, set “PROGRESSIVE OUT” to
“PROGRESSIVE SCAN ON” (see
page 80).
If not, set it to “PROGRESSIVE
SCAN OFF”.
After the connection
Plug in the power cord of the TV. Then
go to “EZ Set Up” (see page 25).
