MX6 Reference Guide E-EQ-MX6RG-E-ARC
Speaker
The speaker is located on the back of the MX6. The speaker has a loudness of at least 87 dB (1500
Hz) at 10 cm measured from the back of the unit. The Speaker volume is adjustable via the keypad
or the Settings or by an application through the use of an API call. There are 6 distinct volume
levels. The minimum volume level is 0 (no sound) with a default setting of 3. The volume sticks at
maximum and minimum levels.
The speaker is disabled when a headset is plugged into the Audio Jack. The audio volume can be
adjusted to a comfortable level for the user. The volume is increased or decreased one step each
time the volume key sequence is pressed.
The default value for Sounds and Reminders is midrange Volume and all sounds enabled. When
volume and sounds are enabled, speaker volume can be adjusted using the volume key sequence,
if desired.
See section “Set the Audio Speaker Volume” in Chapter 2 for instruction.
Note: An application may override the control of the speaker volume. Turning off sounds saves
power and prolongs battery life.
