Common Interface
Common Interface
You will find the Common Interface for the insertion of two so-called conditional ac-
cess modules behind the front flap.
The purchased smart card from the pay-TV provider is inserted in the CA module,
which is suited to a particular encryption technology.
This card is not included in delivery.
The cards and modules are issued by the
respective pay-TV providers and contain
the subscriber data along with data for the
relevant paid for programmes. These
programmes are always encrypted.
Consult the pay-TV providers, if you are
interested in a particular pay-TV channel.
You are alone responsible for the use of
the cards. Keep the card in a safe place
when not in use, which also applies to the
PIN code.
Observe the operating instructions
provided by your pay-TV provider.
Without a corresponding card, the
message shown in the left-hand example
appears on the screen when the receiver
is switched on.
With
O you arrive at a menu that is generated by the card.
Via the menu your PIN code gives you access to the different programmes from
your pay-TV provider.
If there is no card in the CA module, a message will appear shown in the left-hand
example.
You can find out which card is located in the CA module via the main menu and
"Common Interface" menu.
Note for the Conax-, SECA-, Viaccess and CryptoWorks user:
Please observe that the programme providers carry out the clearing of pay-TV cards by dif-
ferent monthly release intervals. Therefore, the clearing can occur a few days before or af-
ter the start of the month. During this clearing time, the CA module with the card must be
located in the slot of the receiver and the receiver must be switched on as well as set to the
booked pay-TV channel. Also observe the instructions of the pay-TV provider.
The card can be reinitialised with monthly subscription extensions via the CAM menu "CAM
reinitialisation."
If the clearing of your pay-TV card does not occur , we recommend to remove the
CA module with card from the slot of the switched on receiver and reinsert it.
