How to Set the Audio

Audio Channel
The MVP861 allows the configuring of various audio pa-
rameters to match the number, size and distance of Loud-
speakers in the system.
1. Press the SETUP Push-button on the supplied Remote
Control to access the On-Screen Disc Setup Menu.
Then press the Right directional Push-button to se-
lect the Audio Setup Menu Icon Tab. Refer to figure
23.
Note: If there is a Disc playing in the MVP861 press the
STOP Push-button twice before pressing the
SETUP Push-button.
2. Use the Down directional Push-button to select AU-
DIO CHANNEL followed by pressing the SELECT
Push-button on the Remote Control to select MULTI-
CHANNEL. The Speaker Setup Menu will now appear
On-Screen. Refer to figures 24 and 25.
Notes: The title of the icon button-bar will change color
from yellow (the cursor color) to green indicating
the selected item. The following steps for
Multichannel Loudspeaker Adjustments (Speaker
Configuration, Channel Level and Delay Time) are
also the same for a 2-Channel Loudspeaker System.
In a 2-Channel System the On-Screen Menus that
appear will have the non-connected Loudspeakers
menu items grayed out.
LOUDSPEAKER SIZE CONFIGURATION:
In the steps below the size of the Loudspeakers will be en-
tered into setup. The LARGE Setting refers to the Loud-
speaker capability for reproducing bass frequencies down
to 35Hz within -3dB of the midrange frequencies. If a
Loudspeaker can not reproduce bass frequencies down to
35Hz within -3dB of the midrange frequencies it is consid-
ered SMALL.
1. Use the Down directional Push-button to select
SPEAKER CONFIGURATION followed by pressing
the SELECT Push-button on the Remote Control. Re-
fer to figure 26 on page 28.
Note: If you do not wish to make Loudspeaker
Adjustments at this time press the RTRN (Return)
Pushbutton. Next continue to the SUPER AUDIO
CD Menu by using the Down directional Push-
button.
2. Press the Select push-button twice followed by using
the Down directional Push-button to select Large or
Small Loudspeaker Size for the Front Loudspeakers
connected in the system. Using the directional push-
buttons and the On-Screen Menu proceed to the re-
maining Loudspeakers in the system and select Large,
Small, None, On or Off.
