ROLLER GUIDE MENU OPERATIONS
Options : Caption
The HDTV Digital Receiver contains a built-in decoder that is capable of providing a
visual display of the audio portion. The program viewed must provide Closed
Captioning (CC) for the television to display it. Closed Caption is displayed in the form
of text across the screen (white or colored letters on black background). It allows the
viewer to read the dialogue of a television program or other information.
Procedure
r Press MENU button to display the Rollerguide.
r Press pq button to highlight OPTIONS Icon.
r Press ACTION button to display the OPTIONS menu.
r In OPTIONS menu, press q button to select Caption.
r Press the u arrow, then the p or q arrow to select OFF, CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, T1, T2, T3
or T4.
CAPTION OFF - Use when Closed Caption is not desired.
CAPTION CC1 - For video related information that can be displayed (up to 4 lines of script
on the screen, where it does not obstruct relevant parts of the picture). Script can be in any
language.
CAPTION CC2 - Another mode used for video related information.
CAPTION CC3 and CC4 - Other modes used for video related information.
TEXT T1 - Blanks out a large portion of the picture on the television screen, and displays
program guide or any other information currently being transmitted.
TEXT T2, T3 & T4 - Other Modes that display information and blank out a large portion of
the picture on the television screen.
r Press ACTION once, then the arrow to return to Roller Guide.
Note: When closed captioning is selected, only the Full Aspect mode will be available.

to change closed caption preferences.
