Various messages appear on the monitor screen. Check them with the following list.
Meaning/Remedy
Though no cassette is inserted in the cassette compartment, you press
( or EDIT STANDBY. n Insert a cassette.
During insert pause mode, you try to change input sources.
When turning on the power, the clock has not been set.
Check that the protect tab is slid in so that the red portion visible. n
Slide back the safety switch.
You try to start playback or recording at the tape end. n Rewind the
tape or insert a new cassette.
You press a certain operation button during recording or editing.
During recording, you try to change input sources.
PRESS 0 during at the beginning of the tape.
Turn off the VCR to make it enter timer standby mode.
When you insert into STEREO 1 or STEREO 2 track of the tape recorded
in 12bit mode (Fs32k), the tape switches to 16bit mode (Fs48k) n Insert
in 16bit mode (Fs48k).
You try to insert into an unrecorded portion.
When you execute Duplicate, etc., DV cable is not connected. n
Connect the DV connector.
You try to dub the tape copy right protect signals are recorded.
You try to erase cassette memory.
You try to erase “INDEX DATA,” “DATE DATA,” or “PHOTO DATA”
on a tape having more than 16 kbit memory capacity.
nErase “ALL DATA” on the tape.
You do certain operation while the VCR is writing on cassette memory.
n Operate after writing on cassette memory is complete.
During editing, the LANC cable is not connected or LANC MODE of
the playback VCR is not set to ”S.” n Connect a LANC cable or set
LANC MODE of the playback VCR to ”S.”
During editing, no cassette is inserted in the cassette compartment of the
player VCR. n Insert a cassete into the playback VCR.
During editing, a tape in the playback VCR is at the end n Rewind the
tape.
During editing, the player VCR is in recording mode. n Set the
playback VCR to playback mode.
