This parameter becomes active whenever CHAPTER CREATION has been set to
AUTO.
It is used to set the time interval for automatic chapter creation and is set in units of
minutes.
Select whether to automatically insert a chapter mark during a recording pause.
OFF : Do not insert a chapter mark
ON : Insert a chapter mark.
When the image recording time is known in advance, if the time is set with this item
the BD-X200 will determine the optimum encoding bit rate from the remaining volume
in the blank disc and the recording time.
(Set in hours and minutes. 00 Hour 01 Min - 09 Hour 59 Min)
● When the recording time is set with this item, the ENCODE QUALITY item setting
automatically changes.
This item is for directly setting the encoding bit rate (quantity of data per second).
The bigger the number the better the image quality, however the data quantity
increases so the time duration that can be recorded reduces.
When the setting value of this item is changed, the TOTAL CONTENTS TIME item is
automatically set.
The setting range varies depending upon the AUDIO ENCODE item setting.
LPCM : 4.0 to 7.8Mbps (in 0.2-Mbps steps)
DOLBY DIGITAL : 2.0 to 9.0Mbps (in 0.2-Mbps steps)
MPEG : 2.0 to 9.0 Mbps(in 0.2-Mbps steps)
This parameter is used to set the encoding format for audio data.
LPCM : Linear PCM encoding (Non-compressed)
DOLBY DIGITAL : Dolby AC3 encoding (Compressed)
MPEG : MPEG encoding (Compressed)
● When recording a music source it is recommended that the setting is either DOLBY
DIGITAL or LPCM.
For MPEG, there can be deterioration in the sound quality, depending upon the
compression characteristics.
The screen aspect distinction signal of recorded video is selected.
AUTO : Aspect distinction signal is recorded according to the screen aspect
ratio of the input video.
4:3 : Constantly records aspect distinction signal of 4:3 aspect ratio.
LETTER : Constantly records aspect distinction signal of letterbox video.
(Content at the top and bottom of the screen is blackened out.)
SQUEEZE : Constantly records aspect distinction signal of squeezed video.
(Content at the left and right of the screen is compressed.)
Note
Setting this item to LETTER or SQUEEZE will not change the output image during
recording and is reflected only in the recording to the disc.
