Adjusting the volume balance
with the TEST MODE
Use the test signal to adjust the volume level
of each speaker so that they are all the same.
Preparation:
• The TV volume cannot be adjusted after
the menu is displayed. Increase the TV
volume level to about 10 before
displaying the menu.

Test signals are output from each of the
speakers in turn.
• The subwoofer test signal is not output.
When using the front speaker
system and/or subwoofer system
with the TV:
Turn on the power of each amplifier,
slowly increase the amplifiers’ volumes
until the sound from each speaker
connected to the system is about the same
as that of the sound from the TV speakers.
Note that increasing the amplifier volume
too high may damage the speakers.
Stopping the test signal:
Press the 6 buttons to choose TEST
MODE and press the 5 buttons to
choose OFF.

Adjust the sound volumes so that you can
listen to the sounds at the same volume
when you are sitting where you would
normally sit to watch the TV.
LEFT/RIGHT:
The left or right of the front speakers
CENTRE:
The centre speaker
LS/RS:
The left or right of the surround speakers.
If REAR SPEAKER is set to OFF, LS and
RS are not displayed.
SUBWOOFER:
TV woofer or external subwoofer
• A test signal is not output from the
subwoofer in the TEST MODE. After
using the TEST MODE to adjust the
balance of the other speakers, stop the
test signal and adjust the volume of the
subwoofer while playing back some
actual sounds.

The menu disappears.
When using the front speaker system or
subwoofer system with the TV, it is
recommend that this TEST MODE is used
to adjust the speaker volume levels each
time the system is used.
