REMEDYCAUSE TO TURN OFF THE INDICATION
The VCR uses a self diagnostic function to detect internal malfunctions during recording. Should a malfunction occur during record-
ing, a corresponding indication appears on the monitor screen and the fluorescent display.
The type of malfunction corresponding to the indication, and countermeasures, are given below.

Rewind the tape and
press the EJECT button.
Check for loose connec-
tions.
First, check the cassette. If there seems to be nothing wrong with
the cassette, try the recording operation again. If the indication
“CHECK” is still displayed, change the cassette with a new one
and try the operation again. Otherwise, unplug the power cord and
contact your dealer.

Turn off the indication on the fluorescent
display and on the screen by pressing the
EJECT button or rewinding the tape.

1. Lack of video input signal.
If the VCR is set to record and an input signal is not detected, the indication NO SIGNAL appears on the monitor screen and the
CALL signal is output from the rear terminal.
Check that the cable from the camera is not broken and the camera's power has not been lost.
2. About fouling of the head (CLOGGED HEAD).
This VCR’s head cleaning function automatically removes any particles that may accumulate on the heads during 48H - 960H
(SP) or 0H recording mode. If it cannot be entirely removed, a CLog indicator illuminates.
When a video signal is restored or the
record mode is cleared, the indication on
the screen turns off.
Eject the cassette and
insert it again. If the
indication “CLog” is still
displayed, clean the
video cassette tape. If
the VCR still shows the
indication after clean-
ing, contact your dealer.
When the recording mode is cleared, the
indication on the fluorescent display turns
off.
