INSTALLING YOUR NEW UNIT
Basic Connections
It’s essential that your unit be properly connected.
A
Check the contents.
Make sure the package contains all of the accessories
listed in “SPECIFICATIONS” on page 105.
B
Install the unit.
Place the unit on a stable, horizontal surface.
C
Connect the unit to a TV.
A Disconnect the TV aerial cable from the TV.
B Connect the TV aerial cable to the ANTENNA IN
connector on the rear panel of the unit.
C Connect the ANTENNA OUT connector on the rear
panel of the unit and the TV’s aerial connector with
the provided RF cable.
D Connect the L-1 IN/OUT connector on the rear panel
of the unit and the TV’s audio/video input connectors
with an audio video cable via a cable adapter.
When you connect to the unit using the provided cable
adapter, be sure to set “L-1 OUTPUT” to “SCART VIDEO”.
(pg. 80) If “L-1 OUTPUT” is set to “SCART S-VIDEO” or
“SCART RGB”, the image may be distorted.
For switching the TV’s mode, refer to the instruction manual of
your TV.
D
Connect the unit to mains.
Connect the AC plug of the mains power cord into a
mains outlet.
“LOADING” blinks on the front display panel when the AC
plug of the mains power cord is connected into a mains outlet,
and it takes the unit approximately 50 seconds to be turned
on. This is not a malfunction.
A
TTENTION:
An input cable adapter and output cable adapter are
provided as accessories.
Use these cable adapters when connecting the unit to
the TV.
When you connect L-1 IN/OUT connector to other
devices, connect the provided output cable adapter
to L-1 IN/OUT connector.
When you connect L-2 IN connector to other
devices, connect the provided input cable adapter to
L-2 IN connector.

THESE STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ANY
VIDEO OPERATION CAN BE PERFORMED.
Use the conversion plug (provided) depending on the
type of your AC WALL outlet.
After connection is completed, perform “Auto Set Up”
on page 19.
