Output Format

A Display the output format.

(FG).

0 If select using the Selection Keys (FG), it will be
cancelled if ENTER is not pressed.
It will be confirmed if select using OUTPUT
FORMAT.
0 The output format set will be displayed on the
front display panel for 5 seconds.
Conditions for up converting
(Output using A1080iB, A720pB)
Only during playback of programme titles. Up convert
will be cancelled in the following cases. Returns to the
original output when playback begins.
0 During recording (including temporary recording. See
ATemporary RecordingB [ P88].)
0 During on-air image display
0 During Library Database Navigation operation
0 During editing
0 During dubbing setup or dubbing
0 When Setup Menu is displayed
0 When HELP screen is displayed
0 During programme navigation
0 During Video CD, CD, JPEG and MP3 playback
When HDMI is not connected
0 AAUTOB, A1080iB, and A720pB cannot be set. When
A576pB is set, signal will be output from the
[COMPONENT] terminal.
When HDMI is connected
0 When AAUTOB is set, signal will be output in the
highest format (supports up to A720pB) automatically
detected.
0 When up convert is not possible, signal will be output
in A576pB.

9This unit has an HDMI terminal that connects
digitally with the monitor.
HDMI can be easily connected using just one
cable. Moreover, you can enjoy high image
and high sound quality as the video and
audio signals are output as digital signals.
9Up converting to increase the image
resolution, and progressive scanning without
flicker are possible.

IMPORTANT:
0 Use this function if connected to a compatible TV
using the HDMI terminal or component video
terminal.
0 If connected to the TV using the SCART connector, set
to A576iB.
0 If the HDMI connection is not used, the screen may
not be displayed depending on the setting of the
output format. Set the output format again while
checking the front display panel.
0 The resolution automatically switches when timer
recording begins while watching in A1080iB/A720pB.
During which, the picture may be distorted or may
not be displayed.
0 It is not possible to change the output format while
the Playback Setting Menu is being displayed. Clear
the Playback Setting Menu, then change the output
format.
