You may want to hear the sound from your TV and/or VCR through
your home audio system. To do this, complete the necessary
connections shown on previous pages of this .chapter, then follow
the procedure on this page.

procedure
0 Connect the audio cables to the AUDIO MONITOR OUTPUT
terminals on the back of the TV. Use the red cable to connect
the right (R) channel and the white cable to connect the lefL (L)
channel.
O Connect the other ends of these cables to the AUX IN terminals
on the back of the audio system.
Turn off the television's speakers. To do tlhis, press the AUDIO
thnction button on the remote control until you see the
SPEAKER display. Set the speakers to "()iT' by pressing either
the ADJUST right (") or the ADJUST leI_ (4). (See Adjusting
the Sound, in Chapter 3.)
0 Set the audio system's input to the AUX position.
_Important: For proper tone and volume balance, turn off the TV speakers when
using an external audio system.
